Please join our 1st grade class for a Reader’s Theater Presentation of “The Night Before Thanksgiving.”

Come and see us dance and sing you into the holiday spirit.

The presentation will be at 11:45 on Monday. Your child is free to leave with you afterward. You must sign them out with me first.

Tuesday is an early release day. We will be dismissing at 11:00 and having Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off for the Thanksgiving holiday!

Scholastic book orders are due no later than Friday,  November 21. I will be ordering all books before the Thanksgiving holiday so they will be in by the deadline.

Please be sure to get books that interest your child to inspire their reading!

Also, there are a lot of holiday books that can be read to your child as a bedtime story to create memories and traditions.

My favorite books have always been The Bernstein Bears books and the Clifford books. I can remember those books being read to me by my Primary school teachers and my parents, and it always makes me smile!

This year I have noticed the kids really loving Junie B. Jones books along with Pete The Cat books! Of course, you can’t go wrong with the National Geographic books which are FULL of scientific facts about animals. The kids’ brains soak all the knowledge up like a sponge 🙂

As you have probably noticed, the weather has turned cold!! Please be sure your children wear warm clothes and  their coats  to school so they will be nice and warm.

I will be reminding them daily not to forget their coats at school.

Ms. James’ class worked really hard on a Halloween Book during the month of October. We all contributed to the book. It really is an amazing read!!!  We are putting it together to be published into a hardbound book by a publishing company called Studenttreasures. Your child will be a published author!!!

We are using our best handwriting and illustrations to be sent in. I will be sending home the order form today (Tuesday Nov. 4) for you to look at. This will be a keepsake of your students hard work as a 1st grader. You DO NOT have to order one, but please fill out the form an send it back to me TOMORROW (Wednesday Nov. 5) so I can continue to send it in by the send in date.

This has been a very fun book to write and their learning is evident on every page!! Please consider purchasing the book!! 🙂
