Next Friday, April 6 will be our Character Assembly on the stage in the cafeteria. We are teaching Determination!
The performance will begin promptly at 8. You may want to be there a little early to get a good seat or standing spot!
Knights of Pythias Reading Contest is sponsoring a reading contest!
There will be a special reading log coming home. Every night your child reads March 26- May 4, they will receive a ticket to go into a drawing for A FREE BICYCLE!!!! The drawing will be held May 11
Remember, only kids that get their reading log filled in each night will receive a ticket the next day.

Look for a Parent/Teacher conference not this week. Report cards will also be coming home this week.
This week we will be picking up where we left off with reading every night.
In word word we will be learning about contractions, how to write and read them, and meanings of the contraction.
(ex won’t- will not, couldn’t- could not)
Spelling words: make, than, first, been, its, who, now, people my
Math: continuing patterns and number patterns, skip counting, and more coins and money review.

Tomorrow at 9:00 we will be having our 1st grade spring program: Frog and Toad in Texas. We would love for you to be in the audience. They have practiced and worked hard to be great entertainers. The costumes will be provided, but your child needs to wear
Blue Jeans
Dark shirt (black preferably)
and Tennis Shoes
You will be able to sign child you out and take them home after they are changed out of their costumes.
On Wednesday, April 11th, the first graders will be taking a field trip to the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler. If you would like to volunteer to be in charge of a small group of kids, I would appreciate it. You will need to attend/volunteer the entire time of us being at the zoo.Please contact me if you would like to volunteer via planner, email, or text message and I will send a volunteer form home with your child.
